Ensuring peace in the region, traders can trade safely, and Venice could thus focus more on developing the country further in things like social or political matters. Other countries would come and trade with Venice, bringing in more wealth through trade, leading to the prosperity and rise of Venice.Building the Venetian EmpireVenice took on a conquest to overthrow the Byzantine Emperor and to take over the capital at Constantinople. By weakening the Byzantine Empire and capturing Constantinople, Venice gained recognition from other states. Through this conquest, Venice gained best trading terms and control of territories important for trade. With best trading terms, Venice would become wealthier as more trade activities are taking place, leading to the rise.Expanding the Venetian Empire in the Mediterranean SeaThrough conquests, Venice gained best trading terms and important territories, thus bringing in more wealth. With an increase in trade competition, military outposts were set up along important trade routes. This ensures that trading is made safe, and thus it attracts more traders to come trade in Venice. More wealth was brought in, and there were more jobs for the people. With more trade and a bigger empire, Venice would thus prosper and rise.Trade Developments and ExpansionAttitude towards tradeVenetians were skilled diplomats and they were able to obtain favourable trading terms like lower tax rates, giving them the competitive edge against competitors. They also explored new trade routes, supplies and markets by travelling to to unknown land. Weath created by trade with Asia attracted foreign traders to come trade and even to establish permanent trading posts in the city-state. By establishing good relations and having more traders coming to trade in Venice, wealth would be brought in, leading to the rise of Venice.Innovations in maritime technologyAdvances in maritime technology has allowed travelling possible during winter, giving Venice the edge of dominating trade in the Mediterranean Sea. With an extensive knowledge of shipbuilding skills, they were able to build vessels to suit their sailing needs. They built more galleys to discourage pirates from attacking Venice's trading ships. By being able to come up with solutions to problems, Venice can dominate the trade monopoly. Being able to overcome challenges, Venice could thus rise.Efficiency in managing voyagesMaritime technology has enabled efficiency for voyages which were more frequent as they can travel during winter and galleys were able to transport more goods. More trade can be made, and this leads to rapid expansion of trade and territorial control. With an efficient management system, more traders are attracted to trade in Venice, giving rise to Venice's reputation as a trading port. This leads to an expansion in the trade industries, bringing in more revenue for the country's development, and thus the rise of Venice.Overcoming trade competitioThe main trade competitor for Venice was Genoa, as both relied on maritime trade. After a series of wars, Venice defeated Genoa, eliminating its main competition and making Venice the dominating trader in the region. With no competitor, Venice could thus expand its trade more rapidly, leading to its rise.Trade monopolyAfter defeating Genoa, Venice gained a good spot in the Mediterranean Sea. It can further expand its trade when countries come and buy and sell goods. Venice would then sell these goods they have bought to other countries at a high price, reaping huge profits. In addition, as Venice has a variety of goods and as its navy dominated the region, countries from the East has little choice but to buy from Venice. More wealth was brought in with more trade, thus it promotes the rise of Venice.Industrial developmentTrade-related industryThe Arsenal was set up to prevent overcrowding and to minimise noise pollution in the main trading port in the lagoon. Demands for the great galleys increased, and the Arsenal was expanded to facilitate production. Shipbuilding industry has also grew because of trade. There was an increase in expertise, and as development of the Arsenal was one of the greatest industrial complex, more traders would come and trade, thus leading to the prosperity and rise of Venice. Manufacturing industriesThe Venetians gained more wealth though trade expansion. This in turn led to a demand for more goods, promoting the growth of manufacturing industries. New industries emerged, and more jobs were created for the people. This attracted skilled craftsmen from all over to come and settle down and work in Venice. All these developments boosted the economy of Venice, thus leading to its rise.Innovative practicesInnovative practices made trading transactions clear and convenient. This serves to reduce time wastage and trading is made more efficient. It attracts more traders to come trade, leading to an increase in trade, bringing in more income, increases the status of Venice, making the country rise.I guess i will just stop here, theres still many more to go on fall of Venice. And hey, i didnt copy these from the textbook, i memorised them..I need to go and revise the chem i have studied three days ago now.Chem and english test tomorrow~
